A rising star
Evening you lot, Barney McGrew here again. Legend.
Now, I think by now it’s pretty clear that I know a star in the making. Look at the way I’ve been telling you for the past year that Azure Blue was going places. Was I right? Of course, I was.
Well, now I want to let you know about a human star on the rise. Young Kaden Beasley – son of the nice Connor human – has become the Overall Winner of the 148cm Northern Area Pony Racing League for 2023 with eight wins. How brilliant is that?
You can see some pictures of him at the bottom of this blog and you’ll see what I mean. Look at his poise. Look at his balance. Look at his talent. He could already show plenty of adult humans how to do it, let me tell you.
Well, here’s a prediction. One way or another, Kaden, is going to be a star rider one day. His dad’s pretty good – one of the strongest in the business in my view – but Kaden could be even better.
All he has to do is keep improving, working hard, concentrate at school as well, and come to me whenever he needs any advice.
Well done Kaden – everyone at Denton Hall Racing is proud of you!
I was dead chuffed for my pal, Zuffolo, for winning at Redcar last week. He’s another of those by Bungle IntheJungle. Bloody stupid name, if you ask me, but he seems to get a lot of winners, and I know the Gaffer likes to buy his yearlings when they pop up at a decent price.
Zuffy is owned by some nice humans – Ian Davison, Alan Drysdale, Roger Saunders, and Geoff Thompson. I was especially chuffed for Geoff because he’s a Redcar lad and Zuffy was winning in his colours. Must have been a great feeling.
Meanwhile, Roger was telling me that's the fifth winner he's had since he got into racing because his golf swing had gone to pot, and he needed a new pastime. Jammy bugger!
TALKING of golf, what a bloody stupid game that is. As I understand it, humans walk about the length of the Grand National, hitting small balls into holes with a load of different sticks. Along the way, they have to avoid their balls landing in bigger holes filled with sand, and they curse most of the way round. What’s that all about? Strange breed, you humans. Get a life.
BY the way, did you hear about the two golfers who were ready to tee off just as a funeral cortege passed by. The first player stopped, doffed his cap, and bowed his head as the cortege passed.
“That was a really nice thing to do,” the second golfer said. “It’s good to see there is still some respect in the world.”
“Well, it’s only right,” the first golfer replied. “I was married to her for 35 years.”
That's all from me folks, take care til next time. In the meantime, here's those pictures of Kaden...
